The first few times I read the song, I kept reading “he”, not “they”. And I think I need to take the lines out of context, without reference to salvation. Perhaps the path was away from God?
(My anti-x was not a believer, though his mother hinted otherwise.)
The Holy Spirit leads me to these words and I remember….
….the times I was given words of wisdom and words of knowledge to speak. And my anti-x mocked me.
I was mocked when his physical pain departed. I was mocked by him when others validated as truth the words I spoke to them.
(God gave me the words, they were not mine.)
In those times I heard from God, I felt the peace of God.
My anti-x took that from me.
I still receive words of knowledge / words of wisdom, but I have no peace.
I am missing the last part…
And now I know “Why?”
