UPDATE Sept 2021: I have come to believe that Jeff Crippen does not practise what he preaches. He vilely persecuted an abuse victim and spiritually abused many other people in the Tillamook congregation. Go here to read the evidence. Jeff has not gone to the people that he spiritually and emotionally abused. He has not apologised to them, let alone asked for their forgiveness.

The Unbiblical (and Common!) Way to Handle Reports of Abuse in the Church — is Pastor Shane Lems’ second post endorsing the book A Cry For Justice.
Shane writes for The Reformed Reader, a blog that has nearly 6000 followers. 🙂
Outstanding and informative review!
If it gets the attention it deserves, it should compel the concerned, and true shepherds of the flock to learn more from the book on how abuse hides in the church and how damaging it is to Gods people..
Thanks to Pastor Lem for putting this excellent review out there!
In his review, Pastor Lems said: “Please, don’t take reports of abuse lightly! Take them seriously – and get this book to help you walk through these tough situations in a wise and biblical manner. The church needs to be a place of mercy for sure, but justice should stand next to mercy: learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression because the Lord loves justice (Is. 1:17, 61:8)!”
Amen!
Barbara, I thought I read in one of your blogs once that you could anonymously send info to a pastor or a counselor, Re: Abuse in the church, I can not find that where I read that, does that sound familiar? Thanks for responding. Luci
Hi Luci,
Yes, I believe the post you are referring to is: Educating pastors: A volunteer who will distribute Jeff Crippen’s Open Letter to Pastors.
Hope this helps.
Hi Luci, welcome! 🙂
