Rob Weiss and Scott Brassart are dangerous. I’m exposing their work at Seeking Integrity.

Seeking Integrity is an organisation that claims to offer “specialized treatment for sex, porn and substance / sex addictions with experts who truly care”.

Dr Rob Weiss leads the organisation.

Scott Brassart, a registered child sex offender, is one of the staff members at Seeking Integrity (Internet Archive link here). Brassart was first registered as a child sex offender in 2001.

Rob Weiss obviously thinks it’s okay for a registered sex offender to do videos giving advice to porn addicts and victims. (For example, this video which I do not suggest anyone watch!)

According to Scott Brassart’s glittering bio at Seeking Integrity (Internet Archive link here), his role is to oversee online work-groups for both addicts and partners. He teaches the Sex Addiction, Porn Addiction, and Healthy Intimacy work-group (proof here). He has three tertiary qualifications: BA, MA, and JD (law). The bio says that after twenty years working as a writer, editor and publisher, he “switched his focus to mental health and recovery, and for the last 15 years he has worked almost entirely on healing sex addiction, porn addiction, and paired substance / sex addiction.”

Scott Brassart contributed to a porn book called called “Best Gay Erotica” in 2002. (Internet Archive link here.)

Rob Weiss and Scott Brassart are pro-porn

Rob Weiss and Scott Brassart are both pro-porn, by which I mean they don’t take a stance on whether porn is bad. They liken using porn to using alcohol. But an alcoholic beverage is not a human being made in the image of God!

Any person who takes a neutral stance on porn is going directly against God’s benevolent and wise creational design for human beings. The Bible is crystal clear that it is sinful to objectify another person for your own fleshly gratification (Matthew 5:28), and it is a sin to make provision for fleshly lusts (Romans 13:14).

Here is the evidence that these two men do not think porn is bad. Rob Weiss says, “What’s the problem with looking at porn? I don’t think it’s a problem. Lots of people look at porn. I don’t have a problem with people drinking. Having a glass of wine or even getting drunk, and either is fine.” Scott Brassart says, “The reality of porn and its usage … is akin to how we think about alcohol. Alcohol is not a problem for most of the people who use it, and neither is pornography.”

Most women in porn are trafficked, and it’s impossible to know 100% of the time if a person is consenting, or is being coerced. Trafficking still happens even in so-called “ethical” porn. This means that watching porn fuels the demand for more people to be trafficked and abused, and can never be healthy.

What is “conscribed choice”? And how does it relate to the porn-production industry?

“Conscribed choice” refers to a situation where a choice or action is forced or limited, often through a legal or societal framework, rather than being freely chosen.

Many adults have become actors in porn videos because their capacity to make ”free and fully informed choice” has been limited by the harm abusers did to them when they were younger.

I could have been a case in point. I was sexually abused once at age 9. Because that experience was so terrifying, my mind immediately blocked it out by creating a wall of amnesia. By my late teens I had got into the drug scene, and I decided to become a prostitute because sex was never pleasurable for me and I thought that if I gave myself great pain, it might break though whatever it was that made me unable to enjoy sex. Needless to say, working as a prostitute didn’t help undo the fused wiring in my nervous system that had associated sexual arousal with terror. But it gave me plenty of money to feed my growing heroin addiction! I didn’t enter the porn industry, but that’s probably because eight months after becoming a prostitute I read a news story about a couple of prostitutes being strangled by a client who had booked them to come to his hotel room. I didn’t want to be strangled, so I quit prostitution and moved to another part of Australia with my boyfriend where we went cold turkey to get off heroin.

Did I made a free and fully informed choice to work in the sex industry? No! How could my choice have been free and fully informed, when I had amnesia about being raped at age nine?

Rob Weiss and Scott Brassart have worked together since 1988

According to Scott Brassart’s Linkedin profile, he was Rob Weiss’s Media Associate / Writer from 1988-2016. Here are screen shots from Brassart’s current Linkedin profile. They are proof that Rob Weiss and Scott Brassart have been buddies for a very long time. They have worked together since 1988, which is 13 years before Brassart was put on the sex offender registry.

Marnie Breecker runs the Helping Couples Heal Facebook Group. Marnie posted this for Rob Weiss in March, 2023. Why would she post this for Rob? Probably because she and he are good buddies and she used to work for him.

In Rob Weiss’s post which Marnie shared, Rob said, “We don’t treat women.”

In the comments at her post, Marnie added that she didn’t know that Brassart was a registered sex offender. If Marnie was telling the truth in her comment, we can infer that Rob Weiss didn’t tell all his employees that Brassart was a sex offender!

Dangers for both males and females who sign up for groups at Seeking Integrity

Seeking Integrity DOES treat women. They run women’s groups. And Rob Weiss has let Scott Brassart do tons of YouTube videos for years, speaking directly to victims.

Betrayed partners are mostly women. Here is Rob Weiss’s website promoting a group for betrayed victims. The earliest this page was saved in the Internet Archive was March, 2022, a full year before Rob’s Facebook post defending Scott Brassart. (But the page may have been at Seeking Integrity even earlier than 2022.)

This is only one example. Scott Brassart has done tons of other groups, retreats, etc. for betrayed women, for YEARS

A child sex offender who thinks it’s okay to watch pornography is NOT a man who’s changed. Changed men wouldn’t watch pornography.

In the sex addict groups that Scott Brassart runs for men, he has admitted to watching pornography.

Kate Palmer Bowers has privately told me that she’s spoken to two women, not connected with each other, whose male partners took Scott Brassart’s class and heard him openly admit to still watching porn.

Kate added this:

I’ve spoken with many people who did Brassart’s group and Brassart never once told the men that he’s a convinced child sex offender. I’ve also listened to tons of Brassart’s videos at Seeking Integrity, and he never mentions his child sex conviction in any of his videos.

What if the people in Brassart’s groups were victims of sexual abuse? Would they feel comfortable with Brassart being their teacher? They have a right to know that the leader of the group is a convicted child sex offender!

I am confident that Kate Palmer Bowers knows what she’s talking about: she runs a private Facebook group called Betrayal Abuse Trauma Support and she vets people very carefully before she allows them to join the group.

    1. Hi Farthing2014,

For your safety and protection, I changed the screen name you submitted with your comment to the screen name you submitted with your most recent comment. 😊 If you’d prefer a different screen name for this comment and your other comment — we prefer our commenters not change their screen name too often 😊 ….some of our commenters, for example, change their screen name depending on where they are in their healing process 😊 — please email me at reachingout.acfj@gmail.com

….and I’m guessing (although I’ve no proof), that Scott Brassart contributed to making porn movies.

And these two “men” work with addicts???? With that kind of thinking, I’d be inclined to believe that a) they are both addicted to both alcohol and porn, and b) that they use their program(s) to groom victims they then use in porn videos. Think of all those pastors who “preach” so much on (against) a specific topic, and are later often-times found to have been found guilty of the same thing against which they’ve “preached” so strongly.

        That.

And yet Rob Weiss still hired Scott Brassart and works with him. And they both think watching porn is OK….

  1. I would also add to the post that sex addiction professionals Jake Porter CSAT, Pam Blizzard APSAT, and Marsha Means MFT, all defended Scott Brassart as well after being given the evidence against Brassart AND being told Brassart still watches pornography. 🤮🤮

In fact, they not only defended Brassart, but they straight up SCOLDED us victims for not being “forgiving” of Brassart!!!! 😱

Below is a quote from an email that Jake wrote back to several victims who warned him about Scott Brassart and Rob Weiss (since Jake was having Rob speak at one of his “Daring Ventures” summits, some of us thought it would be kind to give him a heads up).

    Jake’s email said:

I was privileged to hear more of Scott’s story of the past, as well as about his recovery and present-day efforts towards integrity. I cannot not believe in the possibility of redemption, no matter how horrendous the sin.

    And:

Scott Brassart should not be branded for mistakes of his past — 23 years ago.

    And:

Jake also attached these quotes in his email from someone in support of Rob and Scott:

I am writing to you to give my support for both of them [Rob and Scott]. Dr Rob has been very instrumental in my healing….

    And:

….Forgiveness is simply about understanding that every one of us is both inherently good and inherently flawed. Within every hopeless situation and every seemingly hopeless person lies the possibility of transformation.

    🤯

    And:

APSATS coach Pam Blizzard (who works for Dr Jake Porter, said she would take a bullet for Jake, and does the Hope For Wives podcast and Recovered Peace IG and website. She also used to go by the name Wysteria Pearson Veritas in case anyone had any run ins with her. Be careful, she can be volatile) told many victims regarding Brassart:

This is a witch hunt, and this thread [Facebook post] already is making false accusations – which – I thought we as a community of betrayed wives place emphasis on TRUTH. But some people love drama, and to gossip. Jesus ate with SINNERS.

    And:

I believe that God can heal anyone, and no one is beyond God’s redemption.

Interestingly, Pam also defended Marnie Breecker and got all sorts of defensive after we showed Pam evidence that Marnie is also pro-pornography….which is odd (funny) considering someone private-messaged Pam about Marnie being pro-pornography only 1 year prior, and Pam was THANKFUL for the info. Maybe she changed her tune after she started working for Jake?

    🤯

    And:

Marsha Means MFT, (website Betrayal Trauma to Healing and Joy) told us victims in her Facebook group that “How dare we” not offer God’s grace and forgiveness for Brassart, and then also posted in her group the same quotes from Jake’s email about forgiveness. She then told victims to stop talking about it and removed the ability for victims to comment.

To add to it, a few days later Marsha spoke at Jake’s “Daring Ventures” summit where she called abuse victims “porcupines” and said “you can’t love a porcupine.”, she called victims “sour puss’s” and said living with us “sour puss’s” is “like living on the north pole”, she harped on victims for being angry and said a victim’s anger “causes the [abuser] to pull further away” and doesn’t give the abuser “what he needs”, and is also what causes toxicity and unsafety in the children’s life.

Of course, Marsha never once said anything negative about the abusers or called them any names though. 😳 Of course. Instead, she literally said she spoon feeds abusers and that all the abusers who work with her are “willing to learn”.

Jake Porter AGREED with her, and then told Marsha that she’s SO nurturing [to abusers], and that she’s filling in the nurturing gap that abusers didn’t get from their caregivers, and that men just “need a mama”….

    🤮

I couldn’t make this crap up if I tried. I don’t think I would believe it if it weren’t for the fact I witnessed ALL of it first hand (and I have screenshots y’all). 🤣

But let’s face it, is it really a surprise they would say this, given they are all sex addiction professionals? Most sex addiction professionals are already extremely victim-blaming and abuser-coddling, so defending a porn-loving child sex offender seems right up their alley, no? 😅😜 Birds of a feather….

    1. Acronyms used in Kate’s comment, for those who don’t know what they mean:

CSAT stands for Certified Sex Addiction Therapist. CSAT training was created by the awful Patrick Carnes (the guy who created the sex addiction industry and said that parents are naturally sexually attracted to their children).

APSATS stands for Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists. APSAT began as well intentioned, under the leadership of Barbara Steffens, but she has retired and APSATS is failing since it’s now run by CSAT.

MFT stands for Marriage and Family Therapy.
