How does one define “good gift”?
“Normal” – there is no such thing as “normal”, we are not cookie-cutter people – parents choose the gift with their child in mind.
“Evil” parents choose the gift with themselves in mind.
“Normal” parents choose the gift considering what may – or may not – do harm to the child.
“Evil” parents choose the gift considering what may – or may not – do harm to themselves.
“Normal” parents choose the gift most apt to complement their child.
“Evil” parents choose the gift most apt to complement themselves.
How many times does one hear the “good gift” verse?
How many times does the “preacher” assume the gift-giver is “Normal”?
How many times does the “preacher” assume the gift-giver is “Evil”?
Does the “preacher” teach the difference?
Does the “preacher” even know the difference?
