A Cry For Justice

Awakening the Evangelical Church to Domestic Violence and Abuse in its Midst

Announcing a new editor on this blog: Megan C

UPDATE Sept 2021: I have come to believe that Jeff Crippen does not practise what he preaches. He vilely persecuted an abuse victim and spiritually abused many other people in the Tillamook congregation. Go here to read the evidence. Jeff has not gone to the people that he spiritually and emotionally abused. He has not apologised to them, let alone asked for their forgiveness.

***

Jeff Crippen and myself (Barb Roberts) are very pleased to announce that Megan C has kindly accepted our invitation to be an editor on this blog. Thank you, Megan!

As most of you will have noticed, Megan has been writing guest posts for some time. We gave her Contributor status on the blog a while ago, which meant she was able to compose posts, and was notified by email whenever a new comment came in to one of the published posts she had written.

Here is a little ‘behind the scenes’ stuff that may not be important to some of you, but we want to let you know anyway. A person who has the role of Contributor can compose new posts, but it has been up to Jeff or me to hit the ‘publish’ button. Now Megan has the role of Editor she can publish her own posts. Of course, sometimes she may still consult with us before publishing a post, just as Jeff and I have sometimes consulted with each other before publishing a post.

As an Editor, Megan will now be notified of all new comments across the entire blog. And like Jeff and myself, she will be able to decide whether to publish any new comment or send it to the trash. This is a judgement call we sometimes make together, but sometimes it’s as plain as day that a comment is from a perpetrator, so whoever sees it first just trashes it.

We rarely receive comments from perpetrators, but it does happen on the odd occasion. Perhaps they’ve been put off trying to send their missives to our blog because when we’ve received such things in the past, we have shown that we are not afraid to publish them as  ‘Case Studies in Abuserese”.   🙂

So now we have Jeff Crippen and myself as Administrators on the blog, and Megan as an Editor.
Jeff S has also been a Contributor for some time, and he is thinking through whether to accept our invitation to be an Editor (time and other commitments may preclude him taking on that role).

If anyone is interested in the various roles available on WordPress blogs, you can read all about them here.

And just in case you are wondering why we did this, Jeff C and I are hoping that by sharing the blog workload out a bit, we will be more free to get on with the next book (which we plan to write together). So we are very grateful to Meg for her contribution.

  5. Megan, glad to see it. You do good work. This is an example of what believers should be doing at a time like this– taking a stand in the midst of all the chaos.
