A Cry For Justice

Awakening the Evangelical Church to Domestic Violence and Abuse in its Midst

A Cry for Justice — Update on the Publication Our Book

UPDATE Sept 2021: I have come to believe that Jeff Crippen does not practise what he preaches. He vilely persecuted an abuse victim and spiritually abused many other people in the Tillamook congregation. Go here to read the evidence. Jeff has not gone to the people that he spiritually and emotionally abused. He has not apologised to them, let alone asked for their forgiveness.

***

We were notified today by Mr. Joseph Bianchi at Calvary Press that they are targeting the first week of November as the publishing date for A Cry for Justice: How the Evil of Domestic Abuse Hides in Your Church [*Affiliate link]  So that is pretty exciting news.  He also said that there is a possibility that the book is going to be featured at the upcoming sexual abuse in the church seminar to be held very soon at Bob Jones University.  That is great news as well.

So we would appreciate everyone’s prayers that the Lord would use this book as a powerful tool in turning the world of local churches upside down in regard to recognizing abusers in their midst and in rendering justice to victims.  We have to keep this cry for justice sounding until we can start hearing story after story after story of abuse victims who went to their churches for help, AND GOT IT!

  1. Really, really glad to hear this!

Thanks Jeff S. All of our readers will make pretty good salespeople!! I am going to try to carry a couple copies around and every once in a while if I spot someone and talk to them and sense they might be an abuse victim I will give them one.

Of course the idea isn’t to just sell books, it is to get a pile of copies of them out there into the hands of victims and churches and pastors and anyone who will read them.

  4. I plan on getting some for pastors I know and also my therapist who is not a believer. He’s worked with abuse victims in the church before and he never wants to give advice contrary to their beliefs, so helping to understand the church dynamic would be huge for him.

  5. Yep, me, too. I’m going to get some for the local crisis center who currently has no idea how to deal with Christians. I was blessed to get an advocate who did not voice her faith, but as I shared mine and we built a relationship she shared hers as well. Most there are clueless, however. I did find out last week that a Christian homeschooling mom has been volunteering there. It gives me hope that help is on the horizon here in GP. (Gonna get one for that elder I told you about, too!) This will be at the top of my prayer list!

  6. Giving birth to a book is a major milestone. Well done, Jeff and Anna. And I will pray.

By the way, if anyone is thinking of donating a copy of A Cry For Justice to organizations or counselors, you might like to consider donating a copy of my book to them as well. I can let you have copies at the same price as Amazon sells it for.
You can remit money to me by PayPal, US$20 (16 for the book plus $4 shipping to anywhere in the USA). Just put in my email address in the ‘send money to” field on PayPal and write your name and mailing address in the message box that PayPal has in their payment form. I can then get my dear friends in the US to post a copy to you, from the stashes they have. This is not meant as pressure or hard sell. It just occurred to me to mention it, since people are talking about donating copies of the book A Cry For Justice. If you want multiple copies, email me and I can arrange a bulk discount.

      Barbara,

Speaking of your book, I had some time this afternoon to finally pick it up. I actually have had it on my bedside table for about a month I think, but had not taken a look at it other than the name–making sure Amazon sent the right book. I got no further than the interesting cover and wanted to make a quick comment.

I recognized an institutional looking hallway from my working days- yet couldn’t figure out why there were windows on the floor…lol. Very creative! The “about the cover” section explained it so poignantly. (Glad I didn’t skip over it, as I usually skip the stuff in the beginning of books to get right to chapter1). 🙂

      • Yeah Diane, that cover was serendipity from God plus the genius of my book designer. The explanation hit me as soon as I saw it, and it knew it was exactly right.

Featured?! At Bob Jones??!!! A book affirming divorce for abuse???!!! A book affirming divorce for anything????!!!!

I think I’m going to faint!

    • Jeff Crippen

Shhhhhh….. they may not know that yet:)

      • Barnabasintraining

        Ah.

    • Just Me

I know! My jaw hit the floor when I saw that!

    Great news, Jeff! Congratulations!

  9. This is wonderful news! Where’s that Hallelujah Chorus button when you need it?

    🙂

  10. MeganC

Wow! More good news!! I cannot wait to start passing it out!

  11. Little Miss Me

    Congratulations!

  12. Song

    Congratulations, Jeff!

May I suggest asking the person if they would like a copy of the book before giving it to them. I can’t tell you how many times someone has handed me a book they wanted me to read without asking if I was interested in it or wanted it. Even when the book was for a good cause or reason, not considering my choice in the matter was overstepping a boundary and put me off of wanting to read it or join them in their cause.

    • Jeff Crippen

Song – weeelllll, ok. But gee, I was going to autograph them and everything! You’re right though. I don’t want to come on too strong.

      • Barnabasintraining

        Oh! Well, if it’s autographed… 🙂

      • Song

Sorry to be such a spoil sport! lol
I’m all for you coming on strong!! And respectful! 🙂
