It was the best
and the worst of times.
I lost my whole world
and gained a new one.
I grew small, completely disappeared
then I became me.
Goodness grew wings and fluttered away,
as wisdom’s shoots came through the earth.
Death rattled my bones,
as my eyes saw new life.
Trust became limp and useless,
as I put on the thick armor of wariness.
I mourned the loss of what I thought what was
and I half wished I could put all the labels back on.
Yet truth had raised her powerful proud head
and made me a refugee
in a new land.

Sorry for the delay in my response, things got pretty hectic in January! I’m really stoked that you all enjoyed my poem! I find that my suffering, albeit mind blowingly painful, ushered in a life that makes my old life look threadbare and boring. Thanks again!

Hey Jade! Glad you finally wrote a comment on your own post! Hope all is going well with you. I tell your story to other people who have suffered mistreatment, and they are greatly encouraged to hear of your whistleblowing success. :)

That’s wonderful to hear!!! It’s not the definition of success that many would understand ‘success’ to be, but it is success nonetheless, as the above poem kinda describes. Its mind blowing and exhilarating to understand this horrendous process that I went through as a ‘success’ story!
